waitsforbrother | Dream 004- The memories lost

There was a woman walking through a marketplace with two small boys at her side. The woman with long ebony hair walked with a regal air to her. Her blue eyes was bright and kind. And there was a gentle smile on her lips as she moved slowly through the crowded market. The children at her sides, looked very alike aside from the difference in eye color. One possessed blue eyes and the other green. The young boys were holding on to the side of her dress. Their hold so tight, she could feel them tugging on her gown as she walked, but that only made the woman smiled even more. She stopped in her tracks and addressed them. "Kamui, Subaru...there's nothing to be afraid of."

The boys looked up at her as she said this, but somehow their anxiety wasn't soothed. They turned away from the woman, looking warily at the crowd of people that surrounded them. The woman lowered herself to their level, bringing them close to her and staring them straight in the eye."These people will do you no harm. We may not get along with them all the time, but they are no different from us. Right now, for all they know, we're just people, a mother with her children."

The boys still looked a bit skeptical. The one with the blue eyes spoke first. "What if they find out?"

The woman smiled sympathetically,"They won't find out. And I am right here. I will never let any harm come to the both of you."

The boy with the green eyes seem to be much relaxed after that. He turned looking around, spotting something he wanted. "Can Kamui and I get an apple?"

"Sure." She replied as she ran hers hands through their dark hair. "Just stay together. I'll be here waiting for you."

The green eyed child smiled, taking a hold of his brother's hand. The blue eyed boy was reluctantly pulled toward the apple stand. The child with the green eyes confidently takes an apple and gave the seller a coin in exchange. And the other boy was very close to him, glaring at the seller making sure he didn't do anything strange. For a far, the ebony haired smiled at them from a distance.

Kamui eyes opened as soon as the dream ended, he sat up, back in his present body. He was no longer under the effect of the card, thankfully. But that didn't mean the time as a child was forgotten. Everything was coming back to him, and now Kamui was feeling slightly embarrassed now. His eyes turned to the dreamberry, realizing it was on. He moved to turn it off, but doesn't.

"For those of you who helped me this past week....thanks." Kamui said, before turning the device now. He was going to hide under a rock now.

...Sometimes I feel the answer is right in front of us,though.

[Thinking.] Have you been to the ruins, yet?

It's doing a good job of hiding then. Annoying.

I missed the last excursion there. How about you?

...I was able to go. I found out a couple of things.

I'm willing to tell you, as long as I have full confidence that you won't tell anyone else.

Anyone who accepts they're stuck here doesn't deserve to know anything about how to get out.

[Kamui accepts what Seiji as true.] I'll take that.

There were two things I've found, a broken teleporter and another computer. The first, the teleporter wasn't like the ones we've seen before. They're constructed differently. So it's possible that they were used to go other worlds, maybe even used to leave this one.

Secondly, the super computer we found probably has a lot of information stored in it. But we couldn't access the files. If we're able to get inside it, we probably could get more information about Somarium. Maybe even how to leave.

That... I can't believe it. We might really be that close...

Are they related somehow? Maybe the computer was used to operate the teleporter. Someone who's good with tech might be able to figure some of that stuff out and get it working. You know anyone like that?

That's the issue.

We don't know anyone who's an expert with computers, and we don't want to announce it over the Network, since the walls of Somarium have a lot of ears. We don't want the wrong people getting wind of what we're trying to accomplish. So we're at a stand still until we can locate someone with the skills to get into the computer.

And it can't be just anyone either for that reason. Damn it!

Who else was with you when you found the teleporter and computer?

He is a member of the police force. I don't know if you know him. But he goes by Kid, his full name Death the Kid. He's been researching the ruins on the side, but I'm not entirely sure that I can trust him.

Sounds familiar...

The police. Do they know about this then? If they see things our way, they might have the means or contacts to work the devices. If they don't...

I only know what he's told me. But it is definitely possible that the police knows. How much or how little is unclear? They definitely have the contacts and means to solve it.

[A pause] But something tells me he's working independently.

Boss's husband's in the police. Maybe he knows something...

That's why you don't trust him.

...That's one reason.[Kamui doesn't elaborate on the other reason ~~Which involved Kid trying to arrest him, and they threw down~~]
It would be different if he was working in a group, at leats he's willing to share information, but if he works alone. He maybe not be so willing.

You know anyone on the police force we can ask about this stuff? They might know something we don't about it.

I'll be careful not to say anything to this Kid. What's he look like? It's hard to be cautious around a guy whose face you can't pick out of a crowd.

I don't know anyone in the police well enough to ask.

And Kid? There's one feature about him that makes him stand out. On his hair is three white stripes.

Ah. I have a reason to get to know boss's husband better now. Just need to figure out how...

That guy! He helped me during the floods.

[Well if he helped Seiji during the flood, it was possible he wasn't such a bad person. But of course, that wasn't enough proof for Kamui. But he kept his thoughts to himself.]

...so you know him? What was your impression of him?

Not really. He just saved me that one time and bugged me over a Dreamberry post before then. He doesn't seem that bad of a guy, just no-nonsense and straightforward.

....[Kamui was silent for a moment.] Then he may be trustworthy, but I'm not too sure about it.

Until we can find someone to hack into the computer, we're at a standstill. It would be a good idea to keep an eye out though.

It's too soon to know. We'll find out if we talk more.

Any chance I can see them sometime? I need to know they're there for myself.

...you're free to go to the ruins whenever.[A pause.] Unless you feel you will get lost.

I've never been there before, and I'm not really good outdoors. I don't want to kill myself over the computer and teleporter, as much as I want to get out of here.

...That sounds like an excuse.

But if you need a guide, then I can do that.

Even if it's the truth?

Sure. Do weekends work?

...I was under the impression that you really wanted to leave. Getting lost, or fear of dying seems like excuses to me.

[He was always throwing himself into the thick of things,even if it was a small chance of finding anything, he still ventured.]
