[Kamui stares at the car in disbelief. The car keys did indeed make the car react, but the thought didn't register that he was holding that power in his own hands. The key signifying his ownership of the vehicle. Did this mean...Serenity had given him this?
He walks over to the car and opens the door, seeing a ribbon upon the steering wheel. That seems proof as any. Still he didn't think he deserved something like this...especially for his birthday.]
Mother, you've outdone yourself. [ He says to no one in particular as he looks down at the keys. Noticing the key to the manor as well. He suppose he would have to make a trip there in his new car to thank her.]
[Serenity was in her manor. Her big gifts to Hokuto and Kamui sent, she was just relaxing as was the rare opportunity in her home and as headmistress. She had a romance novel in her lap and idly contemplated buying reading glasses as she rubbed her temple again. But her pain and illness was imaginary and psychological at best. She wasn't actually capable of such things without a serious outside force.
She glanced up when she felt a presence nearing her front door and closed her book, making her way towards the front of the manor.]
[ Kamui drove up to Serenity's manor. He was a bit out of practice, but the car drives like a dream. It's like he was cruising along without having steer. So it was easy for him to get the hang of it, and navigate through Espoir. He gets to Serenity's in little of no time, parking the sleek vehicle in front of the manor. He cuts off the engine, and steps out of the car.
The vampire is already making his way to knock on the door, but he can sense Serenity approaching on the other side. Before she can open the door for him, he calls out from the other side.]
I have a key. [ He puts it to good use, and unlocks the front door, allowing himself inside.]
[She chuckles as he enters the house.] Hmm, isn't that much nicer using the door than coming through a window? [She wrapped up her son in her arms.] Happy birthday, Kamui.
Sometimes a window is sufficient during surprised visits. [ Or illegal ones.
He hugs his mother back, smiling a little.] Thank you. I was planning to spend this birthday quietly,but of course my mother would not forget such a date.
As if I ever would let you celebrate such a special day without some sort of affair. You're just lucky I took mercy on you and decided to not throw a party.
Subaru, while under the influence of the card, probably said some things he truly did feel. Those feelings, while spurred on by hate, held grains of truth that he may not have wanted to deal with or even acknowledge. He has to come to terms with those feelings just as you do.
Give him time. When he is ready to face the emotions the card brought up, he will be ready to speak with you as well.
...but it's not only that. [ He slips onto the seat next to his mother. He closes his eyes as he takes a deep breath.]

[ Kamui pauses. He knew his brother will come to terms with what he said. And perhaps even Kamui. Still he never wanted to hurt his brother, and somehow he ended up doing just that.]
But, Kamui... I think you're both wrong. [She offered a gentle smile.] Love is... complicated and takes many forms. You just love Itachi and Subaru in different ways. Subaru is your brother, no one can take that spot from him and Itachi is your lover.
Kamui, I think you are confusing "greater value" with just different types of love. I love my husband with my whole heart, so do I love Small Lady and you the same way. It isn't a matter of "value." A place in someone's heart has no value.
I agree. [ Kamui was trying to say that, but it came out in the wrong way. Or maybe he wanted it to be said in that way.]
I understand that my love for brother, and Itachi are different. And either love can not be measured, but...I wish that consideration had been going through my mind at that moment.
[ Kamui pauses.] I just didn't like the way Subaru was talking to me...especially about Itachi. So maybe I wanted to hurt him...just a little bit. Give him the answer he wanted to hear, but...that wasn't right to do.
Still I don't want to keep apologizing for living my life.

But this might be good for the two of you, you've been together so long, even when he was in a coma for three years. You two have been "the two of you" for so long, I think you're only starting to learn how to be "Kamui" and "Subaru."
You know, when I first met you, your main concern was Subaru and getting back to him and now, you're finally thinking about things you want and wish to do. It doesn't mean you've abandoned Subaru, it just means you've grown up to allow others into your life. That isn't a crime to live for the one you love.
[ It was very rare for Subaru and himself to fight, but he suppose it was meant to happen, they couldn't keep on agreeing with each other.
Talking to Serenity did make him feel a lot better about the situation. Even if Serenity loved his unconditionally and would never judge him. It was comforting that he could receive an unbiased opinion.

...as far as I know...he hasn't ridden in one.
And it really is a nice car. I like how it rides.
I've driven in other worlds...but the car wasn't as perfectly designed as this one. [ There were so many versions of cars out there, but there something quite luxurious about his that beats the rest.] And it's black, so I like it even more.
