Video 002 - Small feet in an unknown world

[waitsforbrother]

[The video feed activates showing a small boy,about the age of seven, sitting up in bed, looking around bewildered. Once his eyes confirms that nothing looks familiar, the young boy starts looking around the bed frantically. Searching under the sheets and checking under the bed. He whispers into the dark.]

Subaru. Subaru, where are you?

[He stops when he realizes that the person he is looking for is not here. He looks even more uneasy and panicked then before. He cautious steps out this strange bed and went ti the door. Opening it a crack and whispering out for Subaru. But no one answered.

He returns to the room, noticing the glow of the dream berry device not too far away. He warily walks over to the device, picking it up and examining. It seems even the young boy knows how to operate it, he looks directly into the camera.]

W-where is this place? Who brought me here? And what have you done with Subaru?

I... don't remember ever seeing anyone with that name around, sorry. [He can swear that he saw this face before, but it's different...

WAIT!]

Ka-Kamui, is that you?

I see...[ Kamui is pretty sad to hear that. Maybe he had been separated from him afterall.

He then blinks as Jigen says his name.]

[Well, talk about deja-vu. He still remembers that time when he became a teenager and ended up crossing paths with Kamui.]

This might sound really weird but... I kind of met you when you were older.

Well, this happened to me before. There are these cards around you see? And they happen to make people revert in age, somehow.

[If that haven't happened to him before, he certainly wouldn't know how to explain that.]

I guess that's the only way I can explain how they work.

But, hm, don't worry. You won't stay like that forever. You'll go back to your old self, eventually. I was stuck as a teenager for a week, so you probably won't stay like that much longer.

So it's temporary? [That made Kamui happy. Although he wished this card of effect would lose it's power sooner.] Well Thank you. I think that's what I wanted to hear.

[OK, making the boy happy certainly caught him off guard. He usually doesn't have that effect on people. He usually just makes them more miserable.]

Ah, I'm Daisuke Jigen, It's OK if you don't remember me. When I got younger, like you, you came to me and I didn't recognize you, so no big deal.

Daisuke Jigen? [What an unusual name, but where he comes from, people only had first names.] So you were also effected by card? And I helped you?

Well, not really 'help'... [Because he was an annoying teenager and Kamui didn't have time to deal with that crap.] But you also told me I knew you and I didn't know who you were.

It's like, the same thing all over again, but now we kind of switched places, in a sense. [Jigen knows that's confusing as hell, but oh well...]

Hm? [ Yes, Jigen that was pretty damn confusing, but he's trying to make sense of it.] So my older self was in the same situation. Except it was the time when you were effected by the card.

[Don't take it too hard, Kamui is a lot older than he looks. He comprehends things pretty well.]

I do? [Frowns. He was looking forward to getting taller.]

[Well, still looks like a child and his pride is hurt now.]

I mean, you were a lot taller. And didn't have such big, bright eyes. [Weird. kid!Kamui looks a lot more hopeful and cheerful than his old self. Jigen can't help but wonder what happened to him in the middle of the way.]

Though Kamui was really happy to hear that he got taller. Just like he wanted.]

Did I get really strong? Am I smart? How do I treat people?

[Oh boy... Just the kind of thing he asked Flonne back then.]

From what I know, you got really strong. [A lot stronger than him, that's for sure. Not that this is much of an achievement.] And you got quite smart too.

As for how you treat people... Well, you got a lot more serious and mature. [Not going to say that he was cold as ice or something like that. Doesn't want to crush the poor boy's dreams.]

[Kamui smiles a bit, not really minding being serious and mature. And even if Jigen had said he was cold, the young Kamui wouldn't have minded. It was interesting just to hear about himself from others.]

The older me sounds interesting. I know that I will be able to accomplish all the goals I had.

[Jigen can't help but smile a little at that. Gosh, that kid sounds so much like him at that age is weird.]

I'm pretty sure you did great! [At least Jigen isn't the kind who likes crushing people's dreams. Besides, he don't know much about Kamui's life, so he really can't tell if he was able to achieve his goals or not.]
