[Filtered away from Subaru Sumeragi:
Have an image of a large metal pot with the bottom burned through and slight blackened. And now have another image of a young man looking at said pot with disdain. Nearby is the charred remains of what looked like kitchen utensils and maybe a cookbook, which seems burned the most as if out of frustration the book was cast into the flames. But the kitchen in the background managed to look quite impeccable despite what was in front of him.]
...who knows how to make soup? Anything to help cure a cold? Also if anyone knows where medicine is available, I want that information too.
[Filtered to Serenity]...I owe you a pot, among other things.

It's like tea.
If you steep a green tea at too high a heat, it will become brown and bitter tasting.
So you have to make sure the broth is cooking low and slow so that it gets the best taste and doesn't create a huge mess.

Date: 2011-11-15 03:23 am (UTC)So what's next?
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 03:28 am (UTC)[He washes his hands first before touching anything else then gets out the salt and pepper.]
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 03:56 am (UTC)I didn't think cooking was so complicated.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 04:05 am (UTC)It is, but at the same time it's not too bad.
There are a lot of similar rules and it just takes practice.
It's when you get into gourmet cooking and the art of culinary techniques that it can get complicated. Like flavor profiles and different ways to cut things.
Baking is a chemistry all on its own.
But the basics aren't hard at all.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 05:06 am (UTC)I just want it to be done fast. It's like a chore, not something you can involve yourself and have fun. I don't think cooking is my thing.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 05:33 am (UTC)Frying things is fast.
But it's not everyone's thing.
A long time ago, my close friend and I turned it into a competition!

Date: 2011-11-15 05:46 am (UTC)Then of course deep-frying where you flour, panko, or bread crumb coat something, put it in some really hot oil and wait for it to become a golden brown and then you're finished!
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 05:58 am (UTC)You'll have to show me how to make those another time.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 06:52 am (UTC)[He waves him over.]
We should sit and chat while we wait.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 07:15 am (UTC)Have you settled in yet?
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 07:54 am (UTC)I'm living with D again in our old house. I haven't found a place to work, yet, but I'm taking my time with that. It seems people are more in need of me at the moment.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 08:29 am (UTC)[Kamui didn't ask the other about the who needed him and for what. It wasn't his business.]
I still have it, your sword. If you want it back you can have it. Especially that trunk of all those weird things.
Action
Date: 2011-11-15 08:51 pm (UTC)[He smiles brightly.]
Thank you, Kamui. That...that means a lot to me!
I'll relieve you of it. Somarium is pretty unpredictable. Who knows when I'll need to use it, right?
Action
Date: 2011-11-17 04:06 am (UTC)I don't see how any of it can come in handy. But if it means so much to you, then I guess it has some kind of personal value.
Action
Date: 2011-11-17 04:25 am (UTC)I more meant the katana. I'm sure my old collection is still impractical, but it was fun to gather together.
[If Kamui can tell, some of Takuma's whimsy has slipped away from him. In a way, he is a lot more mature in a good way. But at the same time, it's probably disheartening to see some of it gone.]
Action
Date: 2011-11-17 05:36 am (UTC)[Of course, Kamui has noticed and he wondered how much time had passed since he's last been here. Or even if time had anything to do with the newly gained maturity.]
Is it a hobby of yours to collect things?
Action
Date: 2011-11-17 06:07 am (UTC)[He nodded.]
It was.
Action
Date: 2011-11-17 06:37 am (UTC)Action
Date: 2011-11-17 07:27 am (UTC)I'm sure I would, but to the degree of what I used to...
I used to have shelves upon shelves of random objects. I don't know if I would do that again.
Action
Date: 2011-11-18 02:51 am (UTC)...I had a hobby once. I used to be fascinated by wings.
Action
Date: 2011-11-18 06:44 am (UTC)Like...bird wings?
Action
Date: 2011-11-19 12:29 am (UTC)[Kamui makes a gesture to his necklace which features one angel wing and a demonic one.]
I always thought they were a reflection of my brother and me. A pair, unique individually, but able to do amazing things together.
Action
Date: 2011-11-19 01:38 am (UTC)May I touch them?
